Bowling Green, Kentucky native Brian Rose is gearing up and making his final preparations to return to NASCAR which is set to re-ignite this week at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Rick Ware Racing.

Rose will make a humble return to NASCAR since being suspended back in 2003 for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy. Now, nearly seven years later Rose is drug-free and ready to get back behind the wheel and gain the trust and support that he once embraced.

“I’m just extremely thankful for this second chance,” said Rose, who will drive the No. 6 Chevrolet Silverado. “I made a big mistake several years ago and it really hit me hard. Instead of being there at the race track – I was sitting at home – wondering why. I’ve been clean for a long time now but I’ve had to prepare myself physically and mentally to get back behind the wheel. The time has finally come and I’m ready to make the best of it.”

Rose is planning on running a limited NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule to re-adapt himself to the trucks, cars and tracks before making a decision on which direction he’ll take for a hopeful full-schedule in 2011.

“It’s about learning and getting reacquainted this year,” continued Rose, who holds 38 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts to his credit. “Rick Ware has been very reassuring and I know that I still have what it takes to drive. I know we’ll have some bumps along the way – but I’m ready for them.”

He added, “I don’t expect us to go out there and be in contention to win races outside the box – but I do see us with time finding ourselves running and finishing in the top-10 in a short time.”

Without hesitation Rose laid out his plans for his comeback at the concrete 1.333-mile Nashville Superspeedway. “I’ve raced at Nashville twice. I finished a solid 15th there back in 2001 so I’m still confident I know how to get around there, we just need to have a good-handling truck and more importantly finish the race.”

From 2001-2003 Brian Rose has competed in 38 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events driving for car owners such as the late Bobby Hamilton Sr., Billy Ballew and Ware. He has scored five top-10 finishes including a fourth place effort in his restrictor plate debut at Daytona International Speedway in 2002. He has controlled the field for 35 laps.
