INDYCAR.COM Offers Live Video Streaming of Star Mazda and USF2000 Races

The evolution of the prestigious new Indy Racing League ‘Road to Indy’ program continues with the announcement that – courtesy of USAC – live streaming video of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear and the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda events at O’Reilly Raceway Park (Saturday, May 29) and Iowa Speedway (June 19) will be available to fans on IndyCar.com.  Links to the live feed will also be on the StarMazda.com and USF2000.com web sites.

Star Mazda and USF2000 will be sharing the spotlight at O’Reilly Raceway Park with the spectacular USAC Midgets on the during the prestigious ‘Night Before the 500.”  Video streaming of the USF2000 race will begin approximately 5:50 ET, while the Star Mazda action will come on-line at approximately 8:00 pm.  Live timing of both events will also be available on the series’ respective web sites.

The ‘on air’ team are all motorsports industry veterans, including Kevin Lee, Mark Jaynes and Jake Query.  Lee has been an announcer for the Indy Motor Speedway since 2001 and also works the IZOD Indy Car broadcasts on Versus.  In addition, he broadcasts for the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts radio networks.  Mark Jaynes has been a pit reporter for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network in 1996.  Jake Query has been a member of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network since 2007 and is also a pit reporter for IZOD IndyCar events.

In addition to the streaming video coverage of the two Road to Indy Oval races, a number of other events on the 2010 Star Mazda Championship schedule will be broadcast both live and tape-delay in the U.S., Canada, South America and Europe.  A major sponsor of the Star Mazda TV package is VISIT FLORIDA (www.visitflorida.com), the state’s official tourism marketing corporation.  In addition, drivers will be competing for the inaugural VISITFLORIDA Cup; the driver scoring the most points in the five weekends / seven races sponsored by VISITFLORIDA (Sebring, Autobahn double-header, New Jersey double-header, Mosport, Road Atlanta) will win a Florida dream vacation.

Two of the race weekends, New Jersey Motorsports Park (June 26 – 27) and Autobahn Country Club (July 31 – August 1) will be shown live on HDnet.  Other races, including Sebring, Mosport and Road Atlanta, will be syndicated to a variety of outlets reaching more than 55 million households in the U.S.  Races will also be shown in 40 countries in South America on SPEED Latin America. 

Each 45-minute race will be a one-hour broadcast. InCountry is the lead syndication affiliate for telecasts. They will air all shows, nationally, at one air time consistently, beginning approximately 30 days after each race date; with over 60 million additional US households.  Each race will have multiple rebroadcasts. InCountry’s key is channel 344 on BASIC DirecTV and channel 230 on Dish Network. Star Mazda races will also be broadcast/available internationally, with a total distribution of more than 116 million households.
