23-year old Drew Herring, from Benson, N.C., will make his second NASCAR Nationwide Series start for Baker Curb Racing Friday night at Bristol Motor Speedway. In his Nationwide Series debut at Iowa Speedway Herring, who hadn’t been in a race car since last November, ran as high as fourth-place and spent over 40 laps running in the top 10 before settling for a 15th-place finish.
DREW HERRING ON MAKING SECOND NNS START
“I’m excited to get back in a Baker Curb Racing Ford this Friday at Bristol. For not being in a car since last November and it being my first time in a Nationwide Series car, I thought my debut at Iowa Speedway went pretty successful. This time around I’ll know a little bit more about the car and will be more cohesive with the crew at Baker Curb. I just want to run a good clean race and be there at the end. Hopefully that will translate into another solid finish.”
DREW HERRING ON BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY
“I really like Bristol Motor Speedway. The first time you walk in the place you are in awe, it’s just amazing. With stands all the way around the track and all the concrete, you can get intimidated easily. It’s a place where you can really let it all hang out and that can be really good or really bad. You can end up with a bad day by getting caught up in somebody else’s mistake. I found that out when I ran the Pro Cup Series there in 2008.”
